FuelTech launches the FT470, the most versatile ECU from the Vision FT line
FuelTech’s flagship Vision FT technology in a package that fits anywhere and connects anyhow.
BALL GROUND, Ga. — October 8, 2026 — FuelTech today introduced the FT470, the newest member of its Vision FT family. Connected through the FuelTech Vision software on iOS, Android, macOS and Windows, your phone, computer, tablet or even an Android dash can be the display you always wanted.
The FT470 brings next-gen technology to a compact ECU: port and now direct injection with GDI pump control, VE fuel injection or injection-time mode, a customizable CAN FD bus, block-based Custom Functions, wireless communication, knock monitoring and an integrated wideband O2 controller. Priced from $999, it puts serious engine management within reach of more builds than ever, anywhere.
The FT470 is the first FuelTech ECU designed from the ground up without a built-in screen, for builders who want more freedom in how they install and view their system, and in how it connects to other products. The unit installs almost anywhere, which means a shorter harness and fewer holes in the firewall when it is mounted in the engine bay.
The FT470 is available now, alongside the release of FuelTech Vision 3.0 software.
Built to adapt to anything
Part of the Vision FT family, the FT470 brings the same proven engine-control technology to a smaller, slimmer package. It supports both port and direct injection, and fuel can be managed by volumetric efficiency (VE) or by FuelTech’s traditional pulse-width mode. Drive-by-wire electronic throttle control is also integrated.
Its Flex IO design pairs 7 dedicated universal inputs with 20 outputs that convert into additional inputs when they aren’t needed as outputs, giving builders up to 27 inputs for sensor-heavy setups.
Key features
- Your dash, any deviceUp to 4 fully customizable dashboards in the FuelTech Vision app, on a phone, tablet or Android head unit, with the software on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
- Built-in connectivityWi-Fi (join an existing network or let the FT470 create its own), plus USB-C.
- Integrated wideband O2Closed-loop fuel control out of the box, compatible with Bosch LSU 4.2, 4.9, 5.2 and NTK sensors — no external controller needed.
- Flex IO7 dedicated universal inputs + 20 outputs that convert into additional inputs if not required.
- Two CAN FD networksFully customizable, with custom frames and DBC import/export, and compatible with modern CAN FD vehicles.
- Custom FunctionsVisual block logic to program the ECU to do exactly what the project needs.
- Built for drag racingAutomatic transmission control at the solenoid level for up to 10 gears, an integrated gear controller with strain-gauge shifter input, and up to 12 progressive ProNitro stages.
- VVT controlUp to 4 camshafts.
- Advanced datalogger16× the datalog memory of an FT550 or FT600, with 1,000+ channels, math channels, video sync with dashboard overlay and side-by-side map compare.
- Built-in sensorsInternal 7-bar absolute MAP sensor, accelerometer and live knock monitoring.
- Everything unlockedEvery ECU feature included, with no paid feature licenses.
- Compact and compatibleUses the same connector family as the PowerFT line, which simplifies the wiring when upgrading, in a 5.87 × 5.67 × 1.78 in package weighing 0.66 lb.
The FT470 is built on the same Vision FT platform as the FT700, in a package that installs where the factory ECU was and turns the phone or tablet you already carry into your dash. Flex IO means it keeps up as the project grows. From the street to the drag strip, it goes where you go.

Pricing and availability
The FT470 is available now at FuelTech.net and through authorized FuelTech dealers, with a retail price starting at $999 for the ECU. Harness options are available on the FT470 product page.
The FT470 is configured with FuelTech Vision, the same free software used across the Vision FT line. Version 3.0, required for the FT470, is released the same day for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. It provides real-time map editing and a simulation mode.
FT Pilot, FuelTech’s AI tuning assistant
FT Pilot reads the log and explains what happened in tuner’s terms, and it proposes map changes that never reach the ECU without the owner’s approval. FT Pilot works with the Vision FT line and with the PowerFT line (FT450, FT500, FT550 and FT600).
