FT470 EFI System ECU

3010015478

Due to high demand, this product ships within 2 business days.

The FT470 ECU is FuelTech's new generation of ECUs that control not only the engine but more and more of the vehicle's systems. It's an advanced vehicle control technology, engineered to bring more possibilities for you.

A single ECU handles anything from a motorcycle engine to a sequential American V8 with drive-by-wire throttle.*

  • Wideband conditioner built into the ECU: the O2 sensor wires straight to it, no external module.
  • The screen is in your hand: your iPhone or Android phone, tablet, Android head unit or computer runs the free FuelTech Vision app, for tuning and as your dash.
  • Every FuelTech Vision feature unlocked: no per-feature license, and software updates are always free.
  • Installs where the OEM ECU lived*: shorter harness, fewer firewall holes.
  • A strain gauge talks straight to the ECU, no extra box.
  • 1-year limited warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects.

DOWNLOAD MANUAL

Before you order

  • Wideband sensor: Bosch LSU 4.2, 4.9 or 5.2 (or NTK), wired straight to the ECU. Sold separately.
  • Direct injection capable: the PH-HV injector driver, sold separately.
  • Lap timing: the external GPS module, sold separately.
  • Injectors: low-impedance injectors (below 7 ohms), or more injectors than the outputs support, need an external peak-and-hold driver.

* Depending on application.

ONE ECU, MOTORCYCLE TO V8

  • From a motorcycle engine to a sequential V8 with drive-by-wire throttle, depending on application: piston engines from 1 to 16 cylinders, rotary engines with 2, 3 or 4 rotors, and an electric motor (1, or more with custom functions).
  • A complete 4-cylinder on a single ECU: sequential injection, ignition, drive-by-wire, variable cam, fuel pump and progressive nitrous.
  • Turbo ready: internal 7-bar absolute MAP sensor (1 bar of vacuum + 6 bar, about 87 psi, of boost), boost control and electronic wastegate control.
  • 20 outputs, all usable as auxiliaries: for example 8 injection, 8 ignition and 4 half-bridge. Unused outputs become inputs (Flex IO): 7 dedicated inputs (not including crank and cam), up to 27 in total. The ECU adapts to the build.
  • Integrates with the factory network**: wheel speeds and buttons come in over CAN, saving physical inputs, and RPM goes back to the factory cluster so it keeps working.

** Select applications built in; others can be configured via custom CAN.

THE SCREEN IS IN YOUR HAND

The FuelTech Vision interface runs on your phone, tablet, Android head unit or computer: the screen you already own.

  • Edit the map, open the datalog, check the state of every input and output, and use the screen as your dash.
  • The FT470 runs the engine on its own; the app is for tuning and for the dash.
  • Up to 4 fully customizable dashboards.
  • Wired or Wi-Fi connection to the screen.
  • Get FuelTech Vision, free, in 9 languages, for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. iOS and macOS: download from the FuelTech website. FuelTech Vision download page

DRAG RACING

  • Drag race features: time-based compensations on your computer, with the log overlaid at the launch and up to 4 plots side by side.
  • Accelerometer and gyroscope inside. The accelerometer measures the launch so you can improve the leave, feeds traction control, and shows what the tires and suspension are doing against the traction that is actually there.
  • Strain gauge wires directly to the ECU: strain-gauge shifter reading and gear controller built in, no extra box.
  • Race report (FuelTech Vision 3.0): a PDF of your race weekend built from your logs, with run card, launch lab, tire shake forensics and attack plan.
  • Active traction control and flat shift (shift cut with a strain-gauge shifter).
  • Transbrake, progressive and staged nitrous control, boost control, mechanical fuel injection (MFI) timers, and more!
  • Automatic transmission control, including advanced adaptive mode, depending on application.
  • Datalogger: 16x the logging memory of the PowerFT line, up to 100 Hz, with math channels and per-channel sampling. Recording time: 45 h 20 min with 24 channels at 25 Hz.
  • GPS lap timer and track analysis with the external GPS module, sold separately.

FOR THE TUNER

  • Injection-time or volumetric efficiency (VE) fuel model, native flex fuel, up to 3 port-injection stages.
  • Closed-loop fueling: the ECU compares measured O2 with target and corrects. Optional self learning with VE.
  • Direct injection: high-pressure pump control, 2 pump outputs. The required PH-HV injector driver is sold separately.
  • Custom functions: build your own logic with 38 block types.
  • User-defined CAN with DBC import and export, on 2 CAN FD networks.
  • Live knock monitoring, 1 sensor: the ECU detects and measures the knock level.
  • 46 engine-protection alert types, 3 actions and 4 safety modes. 4-channel oscilloscope.
  • Idle by ignition timing, stepper motor, drive-by-wire or PWM valve. Up to 4 variable camshafts (depending on free inputs and outputs).
  • Real-time map editing with the ECU connected. Wired or wireless connection.

COMING FROM A FUELTECH POWERFT?

FuelTech Vision 3.0 imports PowerFT maps and converts the setup to the Vision line. Adapter harnesses for the FT450 and the FT550 are in the harness selector above.

FAQ

Which engines does it support? Piston engines from 1 to 16 cylinders, from motorcycles to V8s, rotary engines with 2, 3 or 4 rotors, and an electric motor (1, or more with custom functions), depending on application. See the harness selector, including an LS engine complete harness.

Which harness should I buy? Building your own: ECU only, connector kit, or an unterminated harness. Coming from an FT450 or FT550: the matching adapter harness. Complete harness: choose from the complete harnesses in the selector above.

Where is the dash? The screen is in your hand: the dash and the tuning run in the free FuelTech Vision app on the phone, tablet, Android head unit or computer you already own.

Does the engine keep running if the phone is off or disconnected? Yes. The FT470 runs the engine on its own; the app is for tuning and for the dash.

How do I connect the first time? The FT470 ships with Wi-Fi on: it creates its own network and the FuelTech Vision app connects to it. A USB-C cable is the alternative path.

Does it work with an iPhone? Yes. FuelTech Vision runs on the iPhone for tuning and as the dash. iOS and macOS: download from the FuelTech website. FuelTech Vision download page

What is the warranty? A 1-year limited warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects. Support: 855-595-3835 or 678-493-3835.
