Opened in 2008, Velopark quickly rose to prominence as a premier motorsports' destination. The facility features a championship drag strip and a 1.3-mile road course, providing opportunities for multiple forms of racing. With seating for more than 30,000 spectators.
Over the years, Velopark has hosted major events such as Stock Car, Formula Truck, Endurance Brasil, the South American Kart Championship, Armageddon, VP Series, and the Drag Racing Festival, among many others that marked the history of the sport and countless drivers.
“We are certain that we have contributed to the history of motorsports. We close this chapter with confidence and pride, knowing that the legacy of this renowned complex will continue,” says Sofia Costa, partner-administrator and CEO of Velopark.
“We are taking over the racetrack with the commitment to preserve and carry forward the story of this venture that has made its mark on Brazilian and world motorsport. Velopark is part of our essence — it always has been and always will be our home track,” states Anderson Dick, founder and Global CEO of FuelTech.
“It’s a move everyone was anticipating — drivers, businesspeople, and fans alike. We’ll carry forward the founders’ dream and strengthen Brazilian karting even more,” adds Rogério Naspolini, director of Techspeed.
“Velopark has always been a centerpiece for Brazilian motorsports, and bringing it into the FuelTech family feels like coming home,” said Luis de Leon COO of FuelTech. “This acquisition allows us to invest in the next generation of racing while giving back to the community where our story began.”
FuelTech’s acquisition represents the next step in its mission to elevate motorsports in Brazil and beyond. The company plans to leverage its technology, expertise, and global racing network to expand FuelTech Motorsports Park’s role as a proving ground for innovation, competition, and community engagement.
Until December, the current calendar remains in place — the final events under the Velopark banner. An invitation goes out to all speed enthusiasts to join in celebrating this historic chapter before the new era begins in 2026.
“From developing world-class racing technology to supporting grassroots enthusiasts, FuelTech has always been about pushing boundaries,” added Dick. “Owning and operating a facility like FuelTech Motorsports Park allows us to showcase what’s possible when passion and innovation come together—right here in our hometown.”
