3,146 WHP | “Daddy” Dave Comstock | 1963 Chevy II “Goliath”

July 21, 2022

The Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings television show, which airs on Discovery Channel, has become one of the most competitive drag race series in the sport today. It takes big power and professional preparation to compete with the top teams in the country. One of the No Prep Kings’ main players is “Daddy” Dave Comstock and his slick looking 1963 Chevy II known as “Goliath” and they made a stop at FuelTech USA in Ball Ground, Georgia to get tuned up before the season began.

Under the watchful eye of Pro Line Racing’s most prolific tuner, Steve Petty, the Goliath drag race machine produced an impressive 3,146 WHP on the Mainline Hub Dyno. The powerplant of choice is one of Pro Line’s popular masterpieces, an all-billet Outlaw HEMI engine that uses Alan Johnson Performance Engineering cylinder heads and engine block. A ProCharger F-3X-140 centrifugal supercharger is fastened to the crankshaft for the ultimate in boosted horsepower.

Testing on the FuelTech USA Hub Dyno is available to all customers and it comes with the full attention of their renowned technical support group, a service that is unrivaled in the aftermarket EFI business. The package includes eight hours of one-on-one training using your vehicle on the dyno as you learn about your PowerFT engine management system. FuelTech handles the driving chores, enabling you to focus on your time with the FuelTech customer service staff. Included in the session is a complete data log analysis of the runs and advanced help in creating the ECU maps or troubleshooting issues. Topping it off, FuelTech throws in a flash drive with professionally curated photography and videos of your experience as well as feeding the group lunch.

The Goliath is equipped with the top-of-the-line FT600 engine management system that has all the features needed to compete at the highest levels of drag racing. The FT600, FT550, FT550LITE, and FT450 offer a complete line-up of standard features including sequential injection and ignition, O2 Closed Loop, data acquisition, traction control, delay box, Boost Controller, Nitrous Controller, and so much more. Additionally, the FT600, FT550, and FT450 have a customizable digital display for the driver and the anti-glare TFT touchscreen offers the ability to make adjustments without hooking up a PC computer. It gives the driver feedback in real-time and puts the data in front of him or her instead of mounting multiple gauges around the cockpit. That data collection includes all engine sensors and information from the WB-O2 Nanos, which are also connected to the FT600 via CAN and doesn’t require the use of an analog input.

From dominating the NHRA Pro Modified series to powering the stars of drag racing’s most prolific television series, there is a reason you’re seeing #FuelTechEverywhere
