2000mJ Per Channel — Extreme CDI Ignition Energy

At the core of the FTSPARK GEN3 MAX2000 is a completely redesigned ignition architecture developed to push the limits CDI ignition performance:

  • Up to 2000mJ of ignition energy per channel — extremely high spark intensity for engines operating under extreme cylinder pressure 
  • 475–500V primary coil voltage, helping prevent misfires in high boost and high compression applications 
  • Up to 175A primary coil current when paired with the FuelTech Racing CDI Coil designed specifically for FTSPARK systems 
  • Strong spark current and reliable ignition performance even when operating at reduced ignition energy levels down to 150mJ 
  • Increased spark current and extended spark duration for improved combustion stability across a wide range of engine conditions 

Multispark Mode — Ignite the Most Difficult Mixtures 

The new Multispark mode expands the operating envelope beyond traditional CDI ignition systems:

  • Programable multispark configuration: fire a series of sparks rather than a single spark per combustion cycle
  • Enables stable ignition of extremely rich air/fuel mixtures — ideal for high boost, high compression, alcohol, and nitromethane applications
  • Provides ignition performance comparable to high-energy inductive systems when operating with lean mixtures
  • Ensures consistent combustion from idle conditions through maximum cylinder pressure

Programmable Energy & Advanced CANBUS Integration

The FTSPARK GEN3 MAX2000 offers extensive integration flexibility for professional engine builders and calibrators: 

  • Programmable ignition energy via CAN communication or dedicated energy level adjustment input — enabling control of ignition power
  • Advanced per-channel diagnostics via CANBUS for real-time system monitoring and fault detection
  • CAN communication with the full FuelTech ECU lineup — ignition channel data can be logged directly through the FuelTech datalogger
  • Single-wire serial bus (multiplexed trigger input) — all ignition channels triggered from a single ECU output, simplifying wiring and freeing ECU resources for additional strategies 
  • Compatible with a wide range of motorsport ECUs through motorsport-standard ignition trigger input architecture 

4, 6, or 8 Independent Ignition Channels

The FTSPARK GEN3 MAX2000 supports 4, 6, or 8 fully independent ignition channels, covering:

  • Multi-cylinder piston engines up to 8 cylinders
  • Rotary engines with up to 4 rotors – 3 and 4 rotors require 2 x FTSPARK-4
