December 18, 2014

Follow the steps below to update the FT500 module:

Step 1 - Before update the ECU, back up the maps and logs in the module: It`s recommended to back up all the important maps and logs contained in the FT500, the update won`t delete the maps, but will delete the logs.

Step 2 - Download version 1.31 of FTManager: Download the new version in the "Software> FTManager" menu at FuelTech site or CLICK HERE to download the new version.Then execute the program and wait for the installation to finish.

Step 3: Open the FTManager software and plug the USB cable into the FT500 ECU, click in "Tools" tab and then the icon "FT Updater".

Step 4: A new window will show up, click "Update" and wait until the update ends, when a pop up is displayed on the screen. In the right side of the screen, there will be the "Release Notes", describing all the news about the release.

FT500 v1.31 Update

NEW FEATURES

-Closed loop O2 correction:

 •16x16 lambda target table by "MAP x RPM" or "rpm x TPS";

•For primary and secondary injectors ;

•O2 correction during 2-step, 3-step and burnout mode ;

•8 points table for O2 correction actuation limits (upper and lower);

•Option to disable control by temperature or RPM;

•Smoothing compensation for low loads ;

•Advanced configuration mode, allowing precise tuning of PID parameters.

 - Compatibility with "FuelTech Alcohol O2" conditioner, with free-air calibration on the touch screen;

- Datalogger can start and stop recording by RPM or speed. This function is useful to log just what you need;

- Custom O2 sensor input.

IMPROVEMENTS

- CAN communication with Racepak improved;

- Shift alert is now recorded in the datalogger;

- Wheel speed reading improved for clutch slip or torque converter applications;

- Improvements in FTManager configuration and tuning;

- Diagnostic for TPS and drive-by-wire calibration.

FTMANAGER AND DATALOGGER

- Automatic source attribution. When download a new log, the source is set at the last release of 2-step button;

- The datalogger settings are stored in the FT500, so all new log that is downloaded will respect your previous preferences (order, colors, channels, etc.);

- When running basic fuel maps, primary and secondary stage are displayed in the same screen;

- You can select the drive-by-wire throttle on generate default map screen;

- New math channel: "RPM/Driveshaft” allows seeing the torque converter/clutch slip rate;

- Possibility to export logs to .CSV extension, allowing analysis in mathematical software or incorporated into onboard videos through specific software;

- New hot key to time based functions:

•Selection of more than one cell (Ctrl + Shift shortcut);

•Shortcuts +, -, shift and ctrl works on all selected cells;

•New functions with the right mouse button (add, multiply, interpolate, etc.);

•Improved viewing and editing of selected functions.

- Increase the range of colors of the FT Manager tables, improving differentiation between closed values;

- Improved Overlay function, the changes are made in the open map of the FT Manager;

- Improved import of the main fuel tables and overall fuel trim;

- Improvement in increase/decrease function;

- Interaction between measurement units selected on Options Menu (psi, kPa, bar, ° C, ° F, etc ...) and tables and custom inputs;

- Improved configuration of progressive output by TPS (progressive nitrous/boost control);

- Fixed scale of 0 to 100% for the ignition cut, allowing better visualization;

- Improved output tests and indication in the Diagnostic Panel.

INTERFACE FT500

- Inserted datalogger quick erase data when the memory is full;

- Dashboard can show wheel speed and driveshaft RPM peaks;

- Increased range in post start enrichment table: it goes until + 299% now.
