At the core of this transformation is FuelTech’s FT700PLUS, a next-generation Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) developed at the company’s Porto Alegre headquarters, with support from its U.S. subsidiary in Georgia. The FT700PLUS is the electronic brain behind the new Stock Car platform, managing engine systems, sequential transmission, and all onboard electronics with high precision.
“The FT700PLUS not only manages the engine and transmission but also serves as the car’s instrument panel. It features a 12.3-inch integrated screen, onboard cameras, remote communication, and real-time monitoring of vehicle parameters. All of this was engineered in Brazil, backed by over 22 years of our motorsport experience,” said Leonardo Fontolan, CEO of FuelTech Brazil.
The technical rollout involved the assembly and integration of 31 new race cars in a short timeframe, demanding intensive collaboration among teams and suppliers. Development was led by Audace Tech, with FuelTech providing crucial support for electronic systems integration.
In just two short practice sessions, the new cars clocked lap times over two seconds faster than their predecessors. Impressively, more than 15 drivers posted times within just one second of each other, reflecting the new platform's consistent high performance.
