Joint Press Release: Patent lawsuit between Billet and FuelTech resolved and dismissed

***Joint Press Release: Patent lawsuit between Billet and FuelTech resolved and dismissed ***

Jack French was awarded two US patents in connection with his innovations in field-serviceable fuel injectors. Jack’s company (Billet Machine and Fabrication, Inc.) recently raised these patents with FuelTech in the form of a lawsuit, focused on a fuel injector that FuelTech introduced earlier this year.

To resolve the lawsuit and confirm Billet’s exclusive rights to its patented innovations, FuelTech has agreed to take additional steps to reinforce that its fuel injectors have never been advertised as field serviceable and ensure that they will not be field serviced, including by adding a component to its injectors to prevent customer disassembly. FuelTech injectors will not be opened outside a FuelTech-authorized facility, and anyone that attempts to do so voids FuelTech’s warranty.

FuelTech respects Billet’s intellectual property, and Billet appreciates FuelTech’s efforts to underscore that Billet is the maker of field serviceable injectors, not FuelTech. The parties applaud each other’s contributions to the racing community and wish each other well.
